Student Learning Assessments
(SLAs / Grade 3), are
digitally-based assessments performed at beginning of the year.
It is a provincial assessment that enables both parents and
teachers to identify student strengths and areas for growth.
The Grade 3 SLA is focused on "literacy and numeracy", which are defined as follows:
Literacy is the ability,
confidence and willingness to engage with language to acquire, construct and
communicate meaning in all aspects of daily living.
Numeracy is the ability,
confidence and willingness to engage with quantitative or spatial information
to make informed decisions in all aspects of daily living.
